Apple’s iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c to launch in India on 1 Nov

Apple has announced that the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c will be going on sale in India from 1 November. India is part of the third phase of countries which will get iPhones.

Apple in its announcement also confirmed thattheiPhone 5sandiPhone 5cwill be available in Italy, Russia, Spain and more than 25 additional countries a week before that on Friday, 25 October.

This is perhaps the first time that Apple has announced the India release date much ahead of the official launch. Last year, the launch of iPhone 5 saw various dates being circulated, but the phone was launched on 2 November, a little after the original predictions.

Prices for the new iPhones in India have not been revealed yet. In the US, the devices cost $649 and $549, respectively, in their 16GB variant.

Areportat Gizbot, which quoted a senior official at Aircel,said, “…the Apple iPhone 5c will cost consumers around Rs 45,000, whereas the iPhone 5s 32GB will priced $100 more, around Rs 55,000.”

The iPhone 5s has a 4-inch Retina Display. It is powered by A7 chipset – based on 64-bit PC architecture. There’s co-processor called M7 for motion sensing activities. The phone has an 8-mega pixel camera, dual LED flashlight, and a rear back camera that can record 720p HD movie in 120fps.

The iPhone 5c has a plastic shell and has a bigger battery as compared to that of the iPhone 5. The iPhone 5c has a 4-inch Retina display, and is powered by Apple A6x chipset (dual core). There’s an 8MP rear facing camera along with a FaceTime HD camera. Both iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c support 4G LTE (TD-LTE).
